Serra

KWF Prize 2004

The board of trustees for Forestry Work and technology awards new technology wich allows to optimize performance. The newest SERRA model Bavaria SL130i is equipped with an adjustable sawhead. The advantage of it is that by changing the sawblade lenght you can adapt the distance between the driving wheels hidraulically, according to the log diameter. Because of the flexibility at its sawblade tensioning, with this model you can cut diameters of up to 130 cm making out of this model the biggest mobile sawmill in Germany. Also awarded was the new positioning system that thanks to its CSCA (Cutting speed controlled by amperes) controls the ideal cutting speed. The positioning system also adjusts electronically the desired cutting thickness. The CSCA controlls also the amperes consumed by the main engine and keeps its RPM constant.

This model has been sold and used worldwide. Up to 1000 cubic meter each month is the average in processing round logs.
